This blog post is a continuation of How Will You Know You've Found and Authentic Path (Part One). We recommend you read Part One before continuing with Part Two.
At the end of Part One, I posed a question to contemplate: "What would you like to gain in your life as a result of walking a spiritual path?" It seems like a simple question and yet allowing yourself the time to consider and even sketch out what you'd like to see happen in your life is the surest way to be able to track your results.
When I follow up with clients after receiving the Life Activation to see how their lives have shifted, the typical response is, "I haven't really noticed anything." And, yet, when I ask a few probing questions based on the areas of their lives they had expressed they wanted to see movement or healing as a result of the Life Activation they begin to acknowledge all of the things that have shifted in the weeks or months that have passed, and how surprised they are at the ease of shifting these important areas.
Having a list of things you want to see change or shift can serve as a roadmap on your path. You can begin to discern the fruit (outcomes) and know that you are making headway. These lists can become GOLD, especially in dark times when your lower self wants to convince you things are worse than ever.
I hope that you took the time to create a list for yourself. The most wonderful thing about this list, is that as you check off things on the list, or even if you discover that a list item no longer matters to you, your list becomes a living document of your progression.
Let's continue the conversation of surmising whether we've found an authentic spiritual path or not by expanding our knowledge of our processing capacity.
How does perception and personality work as a veil.
When we are attempting to discern whether a path of spirituality is empowering or disempowering, there are a few additional components of the human processing system we need to understand. First, let's unpack the inner veil of perception and personality that impacts our view of the world around us.
As we grow through childhood we acquire many things. Skills, knowledge, interpersonal relationships, social programming, etc. All of which are intended to provide a solid foundation to build our adult life as the cycle of life continues, often with marriage and children of our own.
This is also the time when our perception of the world, situations, energy, and others are created, and when we formulate our personality (including our many sub-personalities. These two components of our relational aspect of self make up a sort of veil through which we view true reality and color our experience within it.
This veil is a major reason that most people enter a spiritual path. Within this veil are all of our stories, patterns, unconscious reactions, and traits that can keep us stuck or become the reason why we are not getting the results we want in our lives. This veil is what keeps us in a subjective reality, unable to discern the made-up from the real.
This veil will also cloud our judgment about potential teachers, systems, pathways, as it is nearly impossible to view the world separate from our perception and our personality.
So, we must revert back to the recommendation from Part One: look for the fruit. When we do not know if we are in reality, we can use the fruit of the teacher, system, pathway, etc. to prove its' worth and authenticity so we can make the best decision for our progression.
In the mystery school, two programs have really served me in healing my inner veil: (1) Universal Hermetic Ray Kabbalah; (2) Ritual Master. And, certainly, the many Lineage healing sessions I have received over the past 10 years, but the Full Spirit Activation specifically.
It all begins with the deeper teachings available during the Empower Thyself Adept Program, where you will learn the whole cycle of human processes and how to quantum leap your healing process forward.
How the Ego Ties into this Process.
There is an interesting phenomenon that is equipped with each human body. This particular equipment's job is to warn us of danger, ensuring that the physical body doesn't die prematurely. It is the reason that we understand, unlike in cartoons, that if you run off the edge of a cliff you will likely fall to your death. Therefore, we do not go running off cliffs. This key aspect to our physical survival is the Ego.
Due to the specific nature of the Ego, it is predisposed to fear. It uses fear as the motivating force to keep us from doing things or committing to things that could lead to our eventual harm. It is so good at its job, it will even use our previous experiences against us in order to scare us into more safe choices.
This is a major contributor as to why stepping out of our comfort zone can be such a scary experience, so much so that many avoid the non-comfort zone at all costs. Like ostriches, they prefer to keep their head in the sand rather than face the discomfort of new or unfamiliar situations.
The ego can also utilize the distortions within our personal veil to cloud our judgement. Unfortunately, this negative aspect of the ego is fully committed to our disempowerment. Therefore, this ego aspect will attempt to convince us that receiving authentic empowerment from a legitimate spiritual path is scary and should be avoided. In its' view, it is far better and safer to maintain your current box of understanding where you are not challenged rather than venture into the unknown where you might listen less to its' advice and direction.
The only way around this glitch is to acknowledge that the Ego is a program for physical safety. It is not the inner you, nor is it your highest self. Therefore, you have to authority to redirect its action back to its original programming and move your focus to trusting your intuition and inner voice.
In the Empower Thyself program, there is a powerful teaching and tool that is handed down that I have found to be the most profound practical application technique for recognizing and redirecting the Ego.
Final thoughts.
I'd like to conclude this two-part blog post with this final take-away. When trying to discern whether a path is authentic, look at how students are treated within the system.
In the mystery schools, we see all students as masters of themselves first and foremost. We fully expect that our students will question the teachings, apply and test the tools, and discover for themselves the power of the Lineage. We do not place arbitrary rules on your actions, nor do we chase you to check the next box, attend the next class, or receive the next healing. We certainly offer you the opportunity to choose all of those things, and will consistently shine Light on the areas where you might be blind. However, we leave the impetus for progression at your feet.
There are not requirements for study, nor are there ongoing "minimums" you must maintain to remain in good standing as an Adept Initiate. The only caveat to this is if you'd like to receive deeper teachings you agree to maintain a commitment to the level of your Initiation so that the Lineage purity is protected, which would include an annual recertification process. The choice is always yours and you are free to walk away at any time.
Another gift of the mystery school is that the Guide who initiates you is in your corner and always available to you for support and guidance. Unlike life/business/spiritual coaches (who can bring amazing value to your life as well), a Guide will serve you as long as you maintain contact rather than as long as you are paying them.
When deciding on a path, ask questions, seek clarity, and ultimately trust your intuition. If it doesn't feel right, look for something that fits. There are thousands of ways back to your god-self, the mystery school is just one. If you're anything like me, I had to experience the energy of the school through its Life Activation and Empower Thyself program before I could trust the Lineage. I recommend booking a session, or attending an event or foundational class as a way to test the waters and inform your decision on further study.
If you'd like to discuss this path, or your progression, reach out and book a chat with me.
Best wishes to you, always.
